A love of reading, both for pleasure and information, is of huge importance to every child.
The library aims to encourage this love of reading through the provision of a welcoming and well stocked library and by giving a high profile to reading in school through a programme of library activities and campaigns.
The library is situated on the top floor of the school and has areas for study and reading in comfort. There are over five thousand books, four computers and a range of newspapers and magazines. The library is open every lunchtime to all pupils. Pupils can borrow up to four books at a time.
All Key Stage Two pupils have regular library lessons aimed at encouraging reading for pleasure and developing study skills.
'To be given a book is like being given a ship: you become a Christopher Columbus and there's no saying what you'll find across the ocean.'
